The Crusaders bounced back from last week's defeat to the Highlanders in the first Semi final of the 2008 Super 14 beating the Hurricanes by 33 points to 22. The result means that the 2008 Super 14 final will be held at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch and that means home advantage for the Crusaders. The Crusaders were in ominous form as they completely dominated the Hurricanes in all facets of the game. The Hurricanes however started well as Zac Guildford scored the first try of the match but a few minutes later the Crusaders had taken control of the match.

The Waratahs won their way into their second Super 14 final with a four-tries to one victory over the error-strewn Sharks. The Sharks lost last year's final by a point to the Bulls but they hardly featured against the well-drilled Waratahs, who dominated the breakdowns with intimidating defence and stole five lineouts from the Sharks.

The Sydney team stormed to a 25-6 lead after 45 minutes but they lost their way in the final 30 minutes, enabling the Sharks to score a consolation try to replacement hooker Craig Burden nine minutes from fulltime.

Il Galles batte la Francia e si aggiudica il Sei Nazioni con tanto di Grande Slam. Un trionfo che sa di miracolo per gli uomini di Warren Gatland, appena qualche mese fa usciti con le ossa rotte dalla coppa del Mondo. I britannici sono stati ancora una volta perfetti: difesa inespugnabile, mischia travolgente e capacità di trasformare in punti anche il pallone meno giocabile. Bastava contenere la sconfitta sotto i 19 punti per avere la certezza del successo finale, è invece arrivato un 29-12 che ha reso trionfale la serata del Millennium Stadium di Cardiff.

L'Inghilterra ha battuto l'Irlanda 33-10 (primo tempo 13-10) in un match valido per l'ultima giornata del Sei Nazioni. Il successo consente al XV della Rosa di chiudere la manifestazione con 3 successi. Terza sconfitta invece per i verdi, che non hanno saputo gestire il vantaggio iniziale di 10-0 ottenuto grazie alla meta di Rob Kearney e al piede di Ronan O'Gara. L'Inghilterra ha sfruttato l'ottima prestazione di Danny Cipriani. All'esordio dal primo minuto, l'apertura dei London Wasps ha messo a segno 18 punti e non ha fatto rimpiangere Jonny Wilkinson. I vicecampioni del mondo sono andati in meta con Paul Sackey, Mathew Tait e Jamie Noon.

Molti gli errori in difesa che hanno portato alla realizzazione delle mete francesi. I galletti non hanno perdonato agli azzuri nessuna leggerezza giocando su ogni pallone. Buon primo tempo dell'Italia che con la linea di attacco ha sempre pressato la Francia non riuscendo però a concretizzare le giocate. Buona la prestazione di Andrea Marcato che ha messo a segno i calci piazzati e di Martin Castrogiovanni autore dell'unica meta italiana.
